Some things I learned from Computer and Internet Security:
- Leaked information as a result of applications like browsers being used in the internet is possible.
- Google.com and probably Yahoo.com mail services supplies a free email application in exchange for being able to read your email and target you with adverts.
- When using public computers, or machines that are used in a public area, make sure that you erase all temporary internet files especially cookie files.
- Information about you stored at the cookie file can be sold to others. That is why you receive telemarketing and junk mails everyday.
- Privacy online must be sacrificed for security and progress. And is being embodied, for example, in EU Retention Directive (a directive that requires member states to retain internet data and store them in a national database).
